Aluminum Formwork Nominal Flat Tie
The nominal flat tie is a single-use steel tension member designed for aluminum formwork systems. It holds opposing wall panels at the correct spacing during concrete pouring, preventing formwork deformation and ensuring uniform wall thickness.
Unlike the full tie, the nominal tie does not measure a full dimension — an 8" nominal tie will result in a concrete wall slightly less than 8" thick. For projects requiring exact wall thickness, specify full dimension ties instead[reference:0].
Key Features:
- Single-piece design for one-time use. The tie remains embedded in the concrete after stripping and is broken off at the notched points[reference:1].
- V-notch stress concentration design ensures the break occurs approximately 5mm inside the wall surface for clean finishing[reference:2].
- Rod notches along the tie body hold horizontal reinforcement in place during pouring[reference:3].
- Compatible with all major aluminum forming systems using flat tie wedge bolts and pins[reference:4].

System Compatibility:
Used with flat head pins, round head pins, or combo pins and wedges to lock aluminum formwork panels. American type and Korean type configurations are both available[reference:5].

Ideal for poured wall basement foundations, high-rise residential buildings, and commercial concrete wall construction where single-use ties are specified.
